Immunizations

Immunizations prevent or reduce the likelihood of getting a disease. They should be part of your preventative health care.

REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS

Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)

In compliance with Arkansas state law, UALR requires all incoming students to show proof of immunity for two measles, mumps, and rubella. You may meet this requirement by submitting a copy of your immunization records showing the day, month, and year you received the shot or shots. (Measles and rubella were originally separate, then combined as “MR” and now “MMR.”) The vaccine(s) must have been received after your first birthday and after January 1, 1968.

If you were born before January 1, 1957 you are not required to show proof of immunization.

Individuals needing immunization for admission to UALR can get a FREE MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine in Health Services. If you need #2 MMR’s, you have to wait one month between vaccines.
