UALR William H. Bowen School of Law is located on a downtown campus in Little Rock, Arkansas, the state's capital city. Little Rock is a small, livable city offering many cultural opportunities including an outstanding speaker series sponsored by the Clinton Library School of Public Service.

The law library, which is the only public academic/county library in the United States, serves the practicing bar and general public as well as the UALR academic community. The law library has a collection of approximately 317,000 volumes and volume equivalents. At the same time it has a strong commitment to building and maintaining a substantive collection of electronic materials.

The law library is housed on four floors of the William H. Bowen School of Law, contains 334 seats for a population of 450 students, and provides wireless internet access throughout the building. The Law Library staff consists of 6 professional librarians, 3 professional staff, 4 support staff, and 3 IT support staff.

UALR William H. Bowen School of Law Library is seeking talented, motivated candidates for the position of Catalog/Reference Librarian (Req. # 748). This is a two-year visiting librarian appointment. The Catalog/Reference Librarians will supervise the cataloging assistant and provide original cataloging, participate in the reference rotation, and may teach legal research sessions. Required Qualifications: A Masters of Library Science degree or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school; knowledge of cataloging and classification standards and tools; familiarity with legal materials; familiarity with integrated library systems; strong organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; and a commitment to outstanding public service. Preferred Qualifications: A Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school; teaching experience; flexibility; and an interest in assisting with a wide range of duties.
