The Department of Speech Communication at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) is inviting applications for two Assistant Professors (R97934 & R97486) to begin August 2010. Our department seeks strong scholars whose research agenda and pedagogical interests focus on applied communication in organizational, conflict, relational, and/or public contexts. This position requires the Ph.D. in Communication (or completion of all requirements before employment commences).
Candidates should demonstrate a strong teaching record and a promising program of research. Applicants should be willing to teach a variety of courses within our curriculum in a traditional and online format. In keeping with the metropolitan mission of the university, candidates should also have experience and/or a desire to engage in professional service activities in the community.
Located in the College of Professional Studies, the Department of Speech Communication emphasizes an applied approach to the study of communication in both graduate and undergraduate degree programs. The department has 9 full-time faculty members and approximately 70 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students in its program.
