The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Computing Services Department seeks applications to fill the position of Unix Systems Administrator (R98109). The position requires demonstrated technical competency, a commitment to excellent customer service skills, the ability to work as a member of a team, and the highest level of professional and personal integrity.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field plus three years experience with Unix systems administration in an enterprise environment. Desired qualifications include experience with Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems, third party and open source software packages, fibre-channel attached storage, and scripting systems administration tasks with shell or Perl scripts. Other job related experience or education may be substituted for all or part of these requirements.
Additional qualifications that will be considered are experience with email system administration, database administration, web application server administration, and VMware ESX virtualization.
Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with experience.
