The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position (R99344) in the Department of International and Second Language Studies (DISLS).

Qualifications: PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree, including non-US institutions, in Spanish with specialization in Latino or Chicano studies (or have completed all PhD requirements before employment commences) required. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, relevant teaching experience, and experience with outreach to Latino populations also required. Responsibilities include teaching language and literature courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in the area of specialization, serving on departmental and university committees, and conducting research leading to publication in the specialty area. In addition, the successful candidate has the opportunity to work with the local Mexican Consulate, located in close proximity to the campus, and with the Latino community.
