Dr. Pieter De Leenheer to host a series of lectures in INFQ 7367 IQ Policy and Strategy

November 5th, November 12th, and December 3rd, Dr. Pieter De Leenheer will be hosting a series of lectures in INFQ 7367 IQ Policy and Strategy, part of the MS in Information Quality Program at UALR.

Dr. Pieter De Leenheer is Co-Founder and VP Innovation of Collibra, a global data governance software company. Previously, Pieter held positions of Asst. Professor of Computer Science at VU University Amsterdam and at the University of Brussels. Pieter is the key co-designer of the principles and methods of business semantics management, that are underpinning Collibra‘s Data Governance software.

This series of lectures takes students through the various phases of the data governance lifecycle – from compelling event to global operationalization. We start the journey with the business semantics glossary use case. Next, we consider other use cases that leverage the glossary value. We pay particular attention to the DQ use case where we identify and model data policies and rules. We investigate data stewardship execution in terms of RACI roles, responsibilities and workflows across silos and functions in the organization. Throughout the series students get hands-on experience using Collibra data governance and/or Activiti workflow design technologies

Students and guests are welcome to come to EIT 217 on the UALR Campus to view the live webcast which starts 6 pm CST (Nov. 5th, 12th and Dec. 3rd).  We are also making a guest link available.
