<p>In the Fall of 2013, The Information Technology program will provide all incoming students with their own <a href="http://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/devices/features.html">Google Chromebook</a>. All course materials will be distributed using the Google apps platform eliminating the need for student textbook purchases. This will be a valuable tool that will allow for a rich learning experience and provide a consistent platform for various projects and activities in and out of the classroom. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="storycontent">UALR&#8217;s <a href="http://ualr.edu/alumni/">Alumni Association</a> awarded scholarships and stipends to 10 students, including Jason Holland, a graduate of Batesville High School who is managing a triple major in finance, accounting, and economics as well as a minor in information technology.</p>
<p>Holland, one of four students receiving $1,000 stipends financed by the purchase of <a href="http://ualr.edu/alumni/articles/?ID=3">UALR Alumni License plates</a>, has been on the dean&#8217;s list for the past seven semesters, made the chancellor&#8217;s list twice, is the president of the accounting and finance honors society and vice president of the history honors society.</p>
<p>â€œJason has a strong affinity for UALR,â€ said Alumni Director Christian O&#8217;Neal. â€œHis parents both graduated in 1979.â€</p>
<p>Other Alumni Association scholarship and stipend winners are Caroline Tyler, Stefanie Rose, Ashley Boshears, Anthony Wimberly, Michael Tackett, Samuel Adkins, April Jones, Beverly Bishop, and Regina Welch.</p></div>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The summer of 2008 marked the eighth year of the Cyber Teacher Program at UALR. This program is a partnership between the Little Rock School District and UALR. Twelve teachers participated in six weeks of intensive technology training. The district purchased laptop computers for them and paid their tuition. Theses technology savvy teachers will return to their respective schools and incorporate technology in their teaching through dynamic teaching modules, blogs and websites.</p>
