Senior International Student Advisor, PDSO, RO
Sara is the Senior International Student Advisor, joining UALR in March 2013. She earned her BA in International Studies at Southwest Baptist University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Second Language at UALR. She is a Principle Designated School Official (PDSO) certified for F immigration advising and an ┬áResponsible Officer (RO) certified for J immigration advising. Sara spent 6 months researching in Prague and has traveled to China, South Korea, Belgium, Canada, Mexico, Russia and the Czech Republic.
Student Development Specialist
Patti is a Student Development Specialist specializing in undergraduate admissions. Patti has worked at UALR since 1985, advising and teaching. She is a Designated School Official (DSO) certified for F immigration advising. Patti spent 2 years in the Peace Corp in Thailand from 1980-1982 and has traveled extensively in Asia with trips to Italy and Austria.
As the Administrative Specialist for the Office of International Student Services, Cathi enjoys helping students from all over the world as they pursue their higher education at UALR. She has been a UALR student since 2005, pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She focuses on helping international students find answers to various questions they may have as they settle into life in the United States. Cathi has traveled all across the U.S. and into Mexico and Canada.
Student Worker, President of the International Club
Vivien Fechner is an exemplary international student leader. She is originally from Germany and has been studying at UALR since Fall 2011. Her major is Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography and a minor in Public Relations/Marketing. She is a Donaghey Scholar and the President of International Club. As a student worker in International Student Services, Vivien enjoys learning about ways of life throughout the world. She has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She has even visited all the coastal nations of Europe by boat! In high school she ┬áparticipated in an exchange program in England and completed a research program about a working camp in the Czech Republic. As the President of the International Club, she loves to meet all international students. She says it is her pleasure to help students find friends and things to do here in Little Rock!
