Pi Alpha Alpha is the national honor society for public affairs and administration. The purpose is to recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment and foster integrity, professionalism and effective performance.
PAA is associated with the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, which is a professional education association dedicated to the advancement of education, training, and research in public policy and administration. Membership in PAA is limited to persons who demonstrate academic achievement in public affairs and administration program in NASPAA member schools, and/or outstanding public service, and who meet the following criteria.
-have completed 21 MPA hours,
-have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7, AND
-nominated by faculty member and elected by majority (4) of the MPA faculty.
Induction into Pi Alpha Alpha takes place in May. The announcement of the start of the nomination process each Spring is made via the MPA discussion list. Contact the MPA Coordinator for more information on PAA.
