The CPC brings community members together in non-adversarial deliberative forums where potentially divisive public issues can be explored constructively. The CPC is part of the National Issues Forum network and established the Public Dialog Project, through which the CPC offers training in skills in to convene, facilitate, and record deliberative forums.
In addition to offering facilitator training the CPC sponsors public forums using the NIF model and study materials, National Issues Forums are based on the premise that informed and reasoned public discourse is the foundation of the democratic process.
The 2007 training and forums focused on the topic of immigration. CPC seeks to facilitate issues of tremendous import to Arkansas, its communities and people.
