Graduate Certificate in Conflict Mediation
UALR’s Graduate Certificate in Conflict Mediation (GCCM) is interdisciplinary, with courses in communication, law, social work, public administration, education, and psychology. Courses are taught by UALR faculty and by national experts in the field.
The Center for Public Collaboration coordinates the faculty and curriculum of the GCCM. The GCCM is administered through UALR Extended Programs as an interdisciplinary graduate degree.
The GCCM requires 18 credit hours for completion. Courses are scheduled on weekends for the convenience of working professionals. Students can complete the program in one year or go at their own pace.
Three courses are required: Conflict Analysis and Intervention, Mediation, and Negotiation. Students may choose three electives from the following courses: Family Mediation, Conflict Management in the Schools, Crisis Communication, Designing ADR Systems for Organizations, Managing Public Disputes, and Facilitating Multi-Party Conflicts.
