New wireless networks advertised in residence halls

On October 26, 2016, two new wireless SSIDs have been advertised within the residence halls, UALR-WiFi and UALR-IoT for use by a select group of individuals who have volunteered to be beta-testers.  UALR-WiFi is designed for laptops and computing devices that understanding 802.1x protocols.  UALR-IoT is designed for Internet of Things (IoT) type devices such as game devices, multimedia streaming devices, and other technologies that don’t support 802.1x or have limited capabilities such as no web browser.  The next step in this beta-test will involve broadcasting these new SSIDs across the entire campus to second group of individuals who have agreed to beta-test.
