Office 365 is a communication and collaboration service hosted by Microsoft offered to current students and employees for personal use. Office 365 ProPlus includes a local installation of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and OneNote applications, as well as access to the online versions of the software.
The applications supporting these services and data are hosted in data-centers owned and managed by Microsoft.
Installing Microsoft Office 365 requires users create a Microsoft Live account with their @ualr.edu email address. If you have not done so yet, you can get started by signing up for Microsoft Office 365 with your @ualr.edu email address.

- You can log into Microsoft Office 365 to use or reinstall the software with your previously-registered account.
IT Services has partnered with Microsoft to offer a free subscription to Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for home/personal use.
- The subscription is available to all current students for home/personal use.
- Under the Microsoft Campus Agreement with the university, faculty and staff can download Office 365 for free on up to five personal devices (PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones). This is for at home use on personal devices only—Office 365 ProPlus subscriptions should not be used on university-owned computers.
