Victor Haislop joined the International and Second Language Studies Department in 2000. He teaches first- and second-year Spanish classes at UALR’s Benton site. He enjoys teaching in Benton because he feels an affinity with students who attend part-time or at a distance from the campus. He holds an MA and an MBA from West Virginia University. In his free time, he is an enthusiastic coach of elementary school soccer teams. He and his wife, Mercedes, have five children. They travel to Spain each summer to visit family and to ensure that the children continue to be fluent in both Spanish and English.
