HLSA Conducts First Street Law en Espanol Program

April 9, seven Bowen Hispanic Law Student Association (HLSA) members – Jose Alfaro, Alex Burgos, Caleb Garcia, Eun Sol Kim, Abraham Perez, Charles Rauton, and Michael Salorio – and Professor Ranko Oliver delivered in Spanish at St. Theresa Catholic Church the community-outreach informational session for Street Law en Espanol.

The topics covered were “Understanding Foreclosures,” “Understanding Credit,” and “Understanding Bankruptcies.”

The Hispanic National Bar Association sent HLSA President Michael Salorio, the materials in English, and he translated them into Spanish. Oliver reviewed the translation and offered comments, and the Spanish version of each document was given to individuals attending the session.

The presentations were well received by the Latino community present at the church. HLSA plans to schedule a similar community-outreach session for the fall semester.
