Required in the fall semester for first-year full-time students. Part-time students take this course during the fall of their second year.

Civil Procedure I provides an overview of the litigation process from commencement of an action through appeal, with emphasis on pretrial procedures. Topics covered include personal and subject matter jurisdiction; process; pleading; discovery; pretrial and post-verdict motions; judgments; res judicata; and some appellate procedures.
