Professors, Grads Testify on Civil Rights

A number of professors and graduates of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law will testify during the Sept. 12-13 meeting of the Arkansas State Advisory Committee (Arkansas SAC) to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

The event is a fact-finding, public session where the Arkansas SAC will hear testimony from entities and individuals about their perspective on the question of whether a civil rights agency should be created in Arkansas.

The Arkansas SAC is comprised of 12 members, three of whom are graduates of the Bowen School of Law: Brian Vandiver, Melissa McJunkins Duke, and Julie Greathouse. Of the panelists invited to the meeting, three Bowen faculty members – professors Terri Beiner, Chuck Goldner, and Adjoa Aiyetoro – and five Bowen grads – Jan Baker, William Cash, Carol Johnson, Crissy Monterrey, and Maricella Garcia – will testify.

Bowen professor Ranko Shiraki Oliver is a member of the Arkansas State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
