The Passing of Dean William H. Bowen

Mr.BowenDean William H. Bowen served as dean of our law school for two brief years (1995-1997), but his friendship and support continued until he passed away November 12, 2014. We at the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law — students, staff, and faculty — have lost a dear friend, and an individual who demonstrated how to be a successful lawyer and, more importantly, how at the same time to be professional and to be interested in each person and treat each person with respect. While working with us, Dean Bowen also showed by example how the best lawyers engage in public service. His presence at the school he graciously agreed could be named in his honor will be missed; his legacy will last throughout the coming decades because of the impact he had on our school.
