How to Apply

IMG_0011How do I apply?
Applications must be submitted online using the LSAC online application.

When is the deadline to apply?
Applications are open October 1 – June 1 of each year. Students are encouraged to apply early as applications are reviewed as files become complete, and admissions are granted on a rolling basis. Offers are typically made beginning in December, and as a result, applications completed near the end of the application process are considered as space is available.

Is there a fee to apply?
No.

Are letters of recommendation required?
No. However, applicants are welcome to submit two as part of their Credential Assembly Service (CAS) Report.

What should I say in my personal statement?
Personal statements should be two to three pages in length, typed and double-spaced.  In your personal statement, discuss your reasons for wanting to attend law school and why Bowen interests you. It is particularly important for non-residents to discuss why Bowen interests them in their statements. Other information about your background, life experiences, diversity, and volunteer work can be included, as this information is often very helpful in the admissions and scholarships process.

Who makes the admissions decisions?
The Admissions Committee.

When will I receive an admissions decision on my file?
The length of review varies; it can be as short as a few weeks or as long as a few months. Earlier applicants tend to receive decisions quicker than later applicants. We will not consider an applicant until he or she has submitted all required materials. The amount of time it takes for our admissions committee to consider your application doesn’t foretell what decision the committee will make.

Do you have a waitlist?
No, Bowen does not have a waitlist.
