Professor Jenkins-Hobbs joined the faculty in 1992, after serving on the law faculty at the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University), and working as an associate at Lewis and Roca in Phoenix, Arizona. She has published extensively in the areas of commercial law and has been deeply involved in the reform of commercial law on the national level. She chaired the American Bar Association Subcommittee on UCC Article 1 from 1996 to 2000 and has been active as well on other American Bar Association subcommittees and task forces concerning the Uniform Commercial Code, Payment Systems, and Suretyship. Professor Jenkins-Hobbs served as Chair of the Commercial and Related Consumer Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools in 1997, following a membership on the Executive Committee in 1995 and service as Chair-elect in 1996. She currently serves as chair-elect for the AALS Section on Commercial and Related Consumer Law. She teaches contracts, commercial paper, international business transactions and sales.
