Congratulations on your acceptance to the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law!
As the only law school in Arkansas’s capital city, the Bowen School of Law welcomes you with nothing less than the best in New South culture and hospitality. With the state’s largest law firms, courts, businesses, government offices, and public service organizations within minutes of the school, you have access to the tools you need to be successful.
Bowen has one of the lowest tuition and fees in the nation. With scholarships and other aid to help make law school a financially sound investment, it is no wonder that Bowen is consistently ranked as a Best Value Law School.
As you transition to law school you will have many questions. Visit our Frequently Asked Questions webpage for answers to common questions.
You will start law school in mid-August with First Week. First Week is not orientation. It is your actual first week of classes and it is a required part of the curriculum. The innovative programming lays the foundation for your successful law school experience. You even get a practicing lawyer or judge as a mentor in our Professional Mentor Program.
Conveniently, you are automatically registered for your first year classes and will receive your class schedule and books list in early August. As for now, take some time to relax, save some money, and sign up for Bowen’s Summer Writing Preparation Course.
As you begin to think about your life as a law student, learn about your opportunities to pursue concurrent degree programs, course concentrations, and legal clinics. With our experiential learning requirement, you are guaranteed to have practical legal experience before graduating law school.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Office. We look forward to you joining the Bowen Law family in the fall.
