Executive Editor

Executive Editors are responsible for making sure each article complies with the standards and rules set forth in the Blue Book and the Style Manual. Executive Editors must be attentive to detail and patient, because they must review all of the citations in an article, as well as a review the article text to ensure there are no formatting or grammatical issues. In addition to reviewing the citations and text, they must make sure that the sources cited in the footnotes support the propositions in the text.

Each article goes through a rigorous editing process, and the executive edit is one of the last stops before publication. Thus, Executive Editors must do an especially thorough review to ensure that everything is correct before being sent to the author for final approval and, ultimately, for publication.
