On Tuesday August 14, the library upgraded ILLiad and transfered the interlibrary loan service to a Web-based server hosted by OCLC in Dublin, Ohio. With the system transfer now complete, ILLiad users should continue to use their existing accounts with their same logins and passwords. Users will retain their current ILL documents as well as their transaction histories for the past three years. Changes in the system will largely be invisible to users, but will improve the overall performance of interlibrary loan operations.
Ottenheimer Library has used the ILLiad system since 2004 to automate interlibrary loan functions. With the provision of the hosted environment, OCLC will provide the hardware and software components, as well as all back-ups, system and software upgrades, and customization and installation time from OCLC developers. All processing of ILL requests will continue to be handled locally by the Interlibrary Loan Department.
If users have questions about the ILLiad changes, their accounts or specific requests, please contact the Interlibrary Loan Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or 501.569.8812.
