Linda Pine has been appointed senior archivist for UALR’s university archives, effective September 16, 2013. In this capacity, Pine will provide administrative oversight to Ottenheimer Library’s archival collections as well preserve and promote the university’s history.
Pine originally joined the library faculty in 1983, becoming head of archives and special collections in 1990. She moved to the Center for Arkansas History and Culture in 2010 as part of the university’s initiative to partner with the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) to develop the Arkansas Studies Institute, a shared research repository of Arkansas history.
In fall of 2013 a consultant, Jane Kenamore, visited the library to assess the current state of the university’s institutional archives and to make recommendations on the future development and oversight of the area. In response to the consultant’s report, Pine plans to follow-up on the recommendations and develop a more robust university archives.
