In spring 2013, the circulation department of the library began issuing laptops to UALR students, faculty and staff for in-library use. A survey was conducted at the end of the semester to assess user satisfaction with the service.
Survey results indicated that students used the laptops primarily to do word processing, e-mail and Blackboard assignments. Most students reported that they owned a laptop or tablet but chose to use library laptops for convenience and mobility while in the library. Users expressed a high level of satisfaction with 83 percent indicating they would continue to check out laptops in the future.
Based on survey feedback, the library has recently increased the loan period and will be adding additional laptops and peripherals soon. For the full survey results, visit the Library Assessment page.
