Library Card Day on Oct. 16

Central Arkansas Library System On Monday, October 16, UA Little Rock Collections and Archives will sponsor a Library Card Day at the Donaghey Student Center (DSC).

From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., representatives from the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) will be at a table in the DSC signing up students, faculty and staff for CALS library cards and online accounts. To register with CALS, potential card holders should present either a state or campus ID.

With the CALS account, library users can check out materials from any one of fourteen library branches. Additionally, library users can go online and access free music, movies, magazines, ebooks, audiobooks and tv. CALS library staff will demonstrate how to download and use this online content.

Ottenheimer Library staff will be on hand to register UA Little Rock students, faculty and staff for ArkLink library cards to use at other universities in Arkansas. Staff will also demonstrate ArkReach, a service where UA Little Rock library users can directly request materials from 14 CALS public libraries and have the materials delivered to Ottenheimer Library for convenient pickup and return.

All UA Little Rock students, faculty and staff are eligible for a CALS card. Potential CALS card holders who cannot attend Library Card Day can also request a CALS card/account by visiting the CALS website and an ArkLink card by visiting the Ottenheimer Library site.
