In the fall of 2010, the Ohio State University was awarded a $45.6 million grant from the federal government to train Reading Recovery teachers. UALR is one of 18 partner universities participating in the grant. The partners raised an additional $9.1 million match from the private sector.
To date, 119 teachers in 5 states have been trained through the grant at UALR, with an additional 43 teachers and one teacher leader in training this year. The grant paid for tuition, training fees, books & supplies and a training stipend for other training related costs.
