Verizon Foundation, 2010-2009 – Literacy Academy on Response to Intervention

Verizon Foundation awarded the Center for Literacy a $5000 grant for school teams from Arkansas schools to attend the UALR Literacy Academy on Response to Intervention. The Literacy Academy was dedicated to improving schools through a comprehensive and systemic process. The Academy had three goals: 1) to provide educators with information on research-based interventions as a component of a Response to Intervention (RTI) process; 2) to present a framework and process for implementing and assessing a comprehensive intervention model; and 3) to provide a forum for spotlighting schools with successful RTI models.
