Exploring Majors and Careers

One of the most important decisions you face early on in your educational journey at UALR is picking a major. For some, this is easy, but for others it is a difficult task.

The Office of Counseling and Career Planning can assist you. Our counselors will help match your interests and aptitudes with available majors and career choices.

UALR academic advisors are also available in every discipline and are here to help you realize your dream.

As a member of the Exploring Majors and Careers community, you will find out about degree options at UALR and explore a variety of career fields. You will be able to assess your interests and talents to give you an idea of the career that is meant for you.

Examples of activities could include:

  • One-on-one meetings with UALR career planners to help determine your interests and talents;
  • Panel discussions with faculty/professionals from different major/careers;
  • Job shadowing and other opportunities as provided through the Cooperative Education Internship & Placement Office.
