Staff

The ARK-LSAMP staff is managed by a dedicated core group of UALR faculty and staff.

Dr. Janet Lanza is a Professor of Biology at UALR and is the co-director for ARK-LSAMP and University Science Scholars Program.  Her field of expertise is ecology, with research emphasis in plant-animal interactions.  She is also active in developing inquiry methods of teaching.

Dr. Jim Winter is co-director for ARK-LSAMP and University Science Scholars Program.  His appointment at UALR is in the Graduate Institute of Technology as director of the Arkansas STRIVE Program.  His field of expertise is aquatic ecology with research emphasis in radio telemetry and lake management.  He is also active in promoting inquiry methods of teaching.

Other members of the ARK-LSAMP staff are Dr. Michael Gealt, Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, and Mr. Vernard Henley, Director of Outreach Education and Diversity for the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology.
