an effort to serve you better, we now have three ways that you can order your
textbooks from the UALR Barnes and Noble Bookstore. First, arrangements have been made with the
UALR Barnes and Noble Bookstore to permit you to order your textbooks by
e-mail. If you wish to use this method
you must email Byron Barger, Assistant Manager, at bfbarger@ualr.edu. Also, book orders may be faxed to
501-569-8987. If you choose to fax your
book order make sure that you attach at cover sheet sending your fax to Byron’s
attention and include all of the information listed below in your fax. Finally you may visit the bookstore web site
at www.ualr.bkstore.com where you
can order your books online. Please,
note that our experience is that the bookstore does not respond to phone
messages well, so we recommend that you e-mail or FAX your orders to Byron’s
attention, but if you need to call the UALR Barnes and Noble Bookstore the
phone number is 501-569-3245.
When
submitting your book orders you must include the following information:
1. The full
course number and title.
2. The book title and author that you wish to receive.
3. Your shipping/mailing address (where you want the
book sent).
4. Your billing address if different from
the shipping address.
Ordering
books directly from the bookstore should allow you to receive your books much
earlier, eliminate billing problems and give you a contact person at the
bookstore. If you have a problem when
using this procedure, please contact Sherri Campbell-Cathey at
sdcampbell@ualr.edu and we will advocate for you.
Some
agencies require that students registering for courses and purchasing books
receive one bill from the college. If
this is true in your case, please let us know, and we will arrange to have a
consolidated bill sent to your agency.
We hope this new procedure will alleviate some of the previous problems
in the book purchasing process.
In
addition to the UALR Barnes and Noble Bookstore, books may also be ordered from
several online suppliers. We have had
good feedback on the timeliness of delivery from Varsity Books (http://www.varsitybooks.com/). Our textbooks can be found also at http://www.walmart.com/. When you go to the website, you will see
different links in blue. Please click on
the “Books” link. After clicking on that
link, on the left-hand side you will see a heading titled “

Students enrolled in Practicum must attend a group meeting approximately via
videoconference every two weeks. All
students will attend the meetings by videoconference and not on, regardless of
your state of residence. To join the
videoconferences, the student must have a high-speed internet connection
and the following equipment:
1.
Logitech QuickCam Communicate
STX – P/N: 961410-0914 or comparable webcam
2.
Logitech USB Headset 250 – P/N: 980356-0311 or
comparable headset
3.
Sony ICD P330F Digital Voice Recorder. This
recorder is available at stores like CompUSA.
This equipment is available from the
UALR Bookstore. The videoconferencing
software will be available to students at no cost. It will not run on an Apple/Macintosh
product.
