- Rohn Muse joined the Graduate Student Association as a representative from the AHSS College. He was awarded Distinguished Student status from the GSA.
- Kevin Quinn received first place in the Humanities category in the 2009 Graduate Student Research Forum for a content analysis paper about representations of the women’s movement in the Arkansas newspaper, The Gazette (using History and Journalism/Mass Communication).
- Judy Warner received second place in the Humanities category in the 2009 Graduate Student Research Forum for a presentation of her current final project research on the history and styles of Ozark fiddling (using Music and Rhetoric).
