Dr. Ortega became a full-time faculty member for this program in August 2009. Previously, he served as an Adjunct Instructor . Before coming to UALR, he worked as a Counselor and Supervisor in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office in Little Rock, Arkansas for more than 35 years. He received a Masters Degree in Counseling (1973) from the University of Central Arkansas; an Educational Specialist Degree in Counseling (1981) from the University of Arkansas; and Doctor of Education Degree in Counseling (2000) from the University of Memphis. He is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas.
