Program Overview
The Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies (MALS) is an interdisciplinary approach to graduate studies. By combining existing graduate courses at UALR, students pursuing the MALS degree are able to design a wide variety of rigorous interdisciplinary programs. Such programs enable students to acquire the thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills essential to success in many work environments. Each student’s curriculum is individually designed in conjunction with the MALS Coordinator and is based on his or her interests and specific disciplinary background and preparation.
