Master of Arts in Liberal Studies

What is the MA in Interdisciplinary Studies Program?

We live in a fascinating world that requires us to synthesize ideas and solve new problems. Professionals are often required to go beyond the boundaries of a single discipline or a limited perspective.  Drawing on the strengths of multiple fields and engaging with ideas produced across disciplines, this inter-disciplinary approach is the new education.

The MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, formerly known as the MA in Liberal Studies, provides this opportunity to students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds.

If you are interested in studying in more than one field on a graduate level, then you may find your place in the M.A.I.S. Program. The M.A.I.S. degree is based in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Our students study primarily within these fields but also branch out to other Colleges. Learn more about how you can integrate two disciplines to design your degree.  Come discover your own potential with us.
