M.A. in Rehabilitation of the Blind: Orientation and Mobility

Summer O&M Institute 2010 — Announcement!!

This summer’s institute is going to be very different from previous years as the Arkansas School for the Blind, which has housed our students in the past, will be undergoing extensive renovations to its facilities. As a result, Lions World Services for the Blind, here in Little Rock and across the street from UALR, has agreed to provide housing for 8 students in two of its apartments. We have arranged to offer RHBL 7317 Introduction to Methods of Mobility to 8 students from June 7-25, 2010. We also would be willing to offer the same course to 8 different students from May 10-28, 2010. Both groups of students would be staying at LWSB during that time for free rooms in exchange for doing some introductory O&M with some of the trainees at LWSB. Meal costs are $2.00 per meal. Naturally, you are not required to eat or stay there and can make your own housing arrangements. Second summer students will be staying at LWSB from June 28-July 16, 2010.

If you are a potential first-summer student, you must let Dr. J know of your interest right away and which group you could attend (May or June). If we don’t get enough takers for May it might not happen. New students will be selected by how many semesters and hours they have successfully completed in our online classes and how many slots are available for new students who haven’t yet taken an online course from us. So, contact Dr. J now!!
