James joined the faculty of UALR as an assistant professor in 2008 from the University of Central Florida.  Prior to entering academia, he had over 10 years experience working in the information systems field for public and private sector organizations as a web designer and programmer, systems analyst, IT manager, and consultant.  His most recent industry position was the Systems Manager for Development and Support for the Clerk of Courts Office of Lake County, FL where he managed the development and support of information systems to manage the financial, courts, and public records information for a county with an estimated population of over 300,000 residents.  His academic interests include knowledge management systems, information security, decision support systems, and IT strategy.  His work in these areas has resulted in publications in various academic journals and conference proceedings.
