Undergraduate Math Program

Mathematics is critical to many of today’s highly technological workforce. An undergraduate degree in mathematics will prepare students for careers in industry, public service, and education, and for graduate programs. UA Little Rock offers four undergraduate degrees and three minors.

Undergraduate Degrees

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and the Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics will prepare students for careers in industry, public service, and education, and for masters and doctoral programs. We recommend getting the BS degree if you are interested in later pursuing a Ph.D. Students interested in a Ph.D. program should also consider taking an upper level second language. Both the BS and BA have the same core requirements and the same number of hours, but there is more flexibility in completing the upper level requirements of the BA degree.

A degree in Mathematics Education will introduce you to the history of the subject and the technology in math education, and will prepare you to teach math in the educational setting. The BS and BA in Mathematics Education require advanced mathematics courses for licensure.

Early Entry Programs

We also offer two Early Entry Programs so that students can complete an undergraduate and advanced degree more quickly and affordably.
