Yes, you heard right! Now we have a MAC II in ERSC, Room 104. The new Mathematics Lab is targeted for Developmental Mathematics- Elementary and Intermediate Algebra. MAC I is still in Dickinson Hall Room 600 and we will cater to College Algebra students and above. We are also expanding to tutor Basic Chemistry, Physics and Statistics.
Students needing to prepare for their first mathematics test and may be wondering what they need to do in order to get a better grade. MAC and MAC II are excellent places for students to study and do their homework. NO APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY!!! AND the MAC I and MAC II are no additional charge to all UALR students. Now there is no excuse in avoiding math. Each MAC is an excellent place to study and get help. Tutoring, DVD’s and computers are available. Ask for a free tour and we will show you everything that we have available. There are also comfortable couches and a quiet study room off of the lab.
All of the computers in both Labs have the ALEKS software as well as MAPLE and CourseCompass. Computer DVD’s are available for checking out overnight. All classes up are on DVD and made by instructors here at UALR. We also have Business Calculus, Applied Calculus I and Applied Calculus II, College Geometry, Probability, Advanced Calculus 1 and 2, and Discrete Math on DVD. The TI-84 graphing calculators may be rented for the session or semester from the MAC I (not MAC II) for $40. Students may check out a FREE “How to use the TI 82/83 Graphing Calculator” videotape and booklet.
