McNair Scholars Program

About McNair Scholars Program

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) was chosen in 1991 to host a Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccaluareate Achievement Program. The program was established by the U.S. Department of Education under the Federal TRIO Programs and is 100% federally funded. The program is named for astronaut and Challenger crew member Dr. Ronald E. McNair. The objective of the program is to provide educational experiences which will prepare undergraduates for doctoral study. Students enrolled at UALR who are either low-income and first generation college students or from minority groups underrepresented in graduate education are invited to submit an application for acceptance into the program.
