Master of Education in Adult Education

The master of education in adult education degree requires 36 graduate credit hours, including nine adult education core hours, nine education core hours, 9 to 12 adult education hours, six to nine approved elective hours, and a written comprehensive examination.

ADED 7301 Foundations in Adult Education

Adult Education Courses:
ADED 5304 Methods and Materials in Adult Education
ADED 7302 Organization and Administration in Adult Education

ADED 7303 Program Planning in Adult Education
ADED 7304 Teaching Reading to Adults

ADED 7305 Independent Study in Adult Education
ADED 7307 Internship * Required for licensure

ADED 7308 Seminar (Rotating Topics)

EDFN 7303: Introduction to Educational Research
EDFN 7370: Educational Assessment
LSTE 7303: Technology and Instruction in Society or LSTE 7305 Survey of Computer Based Learning Systems

Approved Electives:
Students are encouraged to take graduate credit electives from areas congruent with their individual career goals. However, the adult education program coordinator must approve all electives included in the degree plan. Electives can include but are not limited to courses in Education Psychology, Education Foundations, Sociology and Counseling.
