Master of Education in Counselor Education

Licensure

School counselor licensure is granted by the Department of Education of each state. For specific requirements, check the state where you plan to work. The American School Counselor Association posts the licensure or certification requirements of each state.

Mental health counselor licensure is also granted by each state’s licensure authority. The Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling grants licensure of counselors in Arkansas.
