Jacek Lubecki

Dr. Jacek Lubecki was born and raised in the town of Zielona Góra in western Poland. Between 1984 and 1989 he attended Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, where he studied romance languages and law. Besides English and Polish, he can read and speak French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and German.
He received both his M.A. and Ph.D. in International relations from the Graduate School of International Studies, University of Denver, graduating in 2000 with specializations in Comparative and International politics. Dr. Lubecki has taught at the University of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Between 2001 and 2005 he served as Assistant Professor of Political Science at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois Since 2005, he has been Coordinator of International Studies and Middle Eastern Studies, as well as Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Besides his research interest in European comparative and security politics, Dr. Lubecki has had an enduring interest in politics of the Middle East. Since spring 2003, he has taught several sections of ‘Politics of the Middle east’ — an upper division course in Political Science — most recently POLS 4375 / 5375. He also explores political radicalism in his POLS 3301 course “Topics in Political Science: Global Terrorism.”
He has also authored a scholarly article on “Poland in Iraq.”
