Capstone Project
Near the end of program of study, students are required to conduct a capstone project that is designed to exhibit the student’s knowledge of public and non profit organizations, public policy, the political process, public service values and professional ethics; demonstrate a working knowledge of best practices to perform managerial and technical tasks; use quantitative and analytical research techniques; and demonstrate competent written and oral communication skills. The final project is presented to the entire faculty. The guidelines and process are described in the capstone letter of intent, and an annual calendar is provided to assist the student planning for this project. Capstone students are required to submit the student course information form at the same time as they submit their capstone proposal. This form provides a detailed listing of each course completed to date in the program, current courses, as well as intended concurrent courses while enrolled in the capstone course.
