University of Arkansas at Little Rock

Songwriting is offered every Fall and Summer II terms. There are no prerequisites. Students who complete the course are eligible to hear their song performed on the Fall or Spring Songwriters Showcase and may join the student organization, “UALR Songwriters,” which hosts special guests during the academic year.

Basic Composition (instrumental composition) is available to students who have completed the Theory sequence, or who are currently enrolled in Theory II. It is offered every Spring and students who complete the course are eligible to take privately and to have their compositions performed on Songwriters Showcase/Composers Concerts held each Fall and Spring term of the academic year.
