All of my degrees and teaching experiences are in music education with lots of professional performance as a string player, primarily on the double bass although I’ve played professionally as a violist and cellist as well. I have a great interest in youth academic and music outreach programs and if you’re a person who knows about such things and has done outreach, please, please contact me via my email address so we can talk.
I started and still conduct the UALR Community Orchestra. We currently number about 50 players of all ages, careers, and experience. The orchestra is open to all string players. If you are a wind, brass, or percussion player, give me a call or an email to see if we have an opening for you. My teaching responsibilities at UALR along with conducting the Community Orchestra include working with masters and doctoral students in special topics music education courses, preparation for Praxis II testing, teaching and supervising undergraduate music education music students and teaching beginning to intermediate lessons on violin, viola, and cello. We have an excellent double bass, jazz bass, and electric bass teacher, Joe Vick.
Please surf our music department website for information on admissions, financial aid, scholarships, ensembles, and upcoming concert events. It would be my pleasure to answer and questions you might have about our music department and opportunities in the Little Rock area.
