Community Chorus

Registration:   MUEN 4140, 1 credit hour

Community members in the Little Rock area, including UALR students, faculty, and staff, may also join this ensemble without registering for credit.  For details, visit the membership info page.

Mass in B Minor, by Johann Sebastian Bach – Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock.  Thursday, April 4, 7:30 p.m.

Ticket information: General admission is $10.  Tickets usually go on sale one month prior to the performance date.  Members of the general public can buy tickets through the UALR Box Office website or by calling 501-569-8334. 

UALR faculty, staff, and students may pick up one free ticket by showing ID at the Music Dept. main office (Fine Arts 151).  Faculty, staff, and students are strongly encouraged to reserve their free ticket in advance by calling the Music Dept. at 501-569-3294.

About this ensemble: 

Founded in 2004, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Community Chorus is comprised of nearly 100 members drawn from UALR students, faculty, and staff, as well as the greater Little Rock community.  In March 2009, the Community Chorus celebrated its fifth anniversary with a performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.    

The choir is open to singers at all levels of musical ability who wish to participate in choral masterpieces accompanied by full orchestra.  No formal audition is required.  The Community Chorus performs jointly with the UALR Concert Choir in two major concerts each year.

Note: Grant-in-aid is not available to student members of this ensemble unless they are also members of the Concert Choir or Chamber Choir. UALR Community Chorus does not fulfill voice scholarship requirements for participation in a major ensemble.
