Dr. Fumiya Watanabe

Director of Instrumentation

WatanabeDr. Fumiya Watanabe joined CINS as the Director of Instrumentation in June of 2006; in his position, he maintains CINS collection of advanced instruments, trains users, and educates visitors about the applications of nanotechnology in today’s world.  Dr. Watanabe’s research focuses on instrumentation, including microscopy, spectroscopy and spectrometry instruments; the development of new instrumentation; surface science; surface diffusion; surface atomic dynamics; thin film and crystal growth; gas-phase-MBE; MOCVD; and femtosecond lasers. Dr. Watanabe also teaches courses in the UA Little Rock Department of Systems Engineering.
