UALR’s College of Business received a big boost following its second annual golf tournament on June 17.
More than 100 UALR alumni and friends helped raise more than $30,000 for the university’s business college. Funding from the four-person scramble held at the Pleasant Valley Country Club will provide a permanent endowment to support business student programs, including professional development workshops, placement activities, and student competitions such as the Microsoft Imagine Cup and the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Business Plan.
The George W. Donaghey Foundation is also providing a matching gift, bringing the total raised to more than $60,000.
“I am grateful for the support our alumni and friends. The College of Business, uniquely positioned in the capital city, is committed to our corporate partnerships and active, applied business education for our students,” said Dr. Jane Wayland, Stephen Harrow Smith Dean of Business.
Sponsors for the tournament were Ameriprise, Arkansas Mutual, Arvest Bank, Arvest Mortgage, Bank of America, BBA Solutions, Clark Contractors, Clark Power, Dassault Falcon, Datamax/Flake Kelley, Dixon Golf, Dillard’s Inc., Entergy, Fidelity, Kutak Rock, Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, LSC Marketing, Matlock & Associates, PDC Companies, Riser Ford Lincoln, Southwest Power Pool, Summit Bank, The Daily Record, UALR Institute for Economic Advancement, UALR College of Business Alumni Association Society, UALR Office of Development, USAble Life, Vestcom, Welspun, and Wonderstate Mortgage.
