Fall exhibitions at UALR’s Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Building continues, but due to the possibility of inclement weather, an upcoming reception for artist Dan Thornhill has been rescheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.
In Gallery III, through Dec. 11, the sculptures of artist Justin Puska, the graphic design illustrations of Tyler Bean, and the artwork of Bertha Ramos and Keesha Bass will be featured.
Thornhill will present his master of arts thesis exhibition through Dec. 20 in Gallery II, “The Abstraction of Toys,” a series of paintings that reveals an evolution from a representational to a more abstract style of painting. According to Thornhill, inspiration for his subject matter and composition came from his grandchildren’s toys. The abstract works of Pablo Picasso also heavily influenced his paintings.
The galleries are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
